Santos fined R$ 2,000 for delay in 2-1 win over Novorizontino

Santos have been fined R$ 2,000 by the second Disciplinary Commission of the TJD for a delay during their 2-1 win over Novorizontino at Vila Belmiro on 10 January in the first round of the Paulistão. The unanimous verdict was delivered on Tuesday, 20 January, with Novorizontino given the same penalty.
As reported by Diario Do Peixe, both clubs were cited under Article 206 of the CBJD, covering delays to kick-off or restarts, with fines from R$ 100 to R$ 1,000 per minute.
Marcelo Trevisan de Góes represented Santos at the hearing. Referee Flavio Rodrigues de Souza noted that both sides took three minutes to return after half-time, causing a two-minute delay to the restart.
Santos were late again in subsequent rounds and could face further fines.
In the derby against Palmeiras, referee João Vitor Gobi recorded a two-minute delay to the restart after both teams returned three minutes late from the interval. Against Guarani in Campinas, referee Matheus Delgado Candançan also reported a late restart for both sides, without specifying the duration.
