Seko Fofana close to Porto loan after Benfica links | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Porto have a preliminary agreement and are close to signing 30-year-old midfielder Seko Fofana, who had been linked with Benfica.

Porto still need to finalise terms with Rennes. Talks are advanced, with an agreement expected soon, and a loan until the end of the season is on the table.

Fofana featured at the most recent Africa Cup of Nations. He has had limited minutes this season at Rennes and wants to keep his levels high ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Ivory Coast are in Group E with Germany, Curaçao and Ecuador.

Ahead of the Gil Vicente match, Francesco Farioli declined to discuss Porto’s interest, saying only that the club are prepared to cover any departure before the window closes.

In 2025/26 for Rennes, the €8 million-rated midfielder has played 12 games, scoring one goal in 654 minutes under Senegalese coach Habib Beye.
