Serrano is ruled out for Mallorca after a training setback, while Berenguer returns to Athletic’s 23-man squad for Saturday at Son Moix.

As reported by as.com, Berenguer, who sat out Tuesday’s Copa del Rey tie at Cultural Leonesa with physical problems, is named in a 23-man group that retains the 22 who travelled to León.

The Navarrese winger has improved from traumatic arthritis in the big toe of his right foot, an issue that troubled him in late September and flared up before the trip to the Reino de León.

Serrano suffered a problem in today’s session and tests have confirmed a muscular injury to the adductor in his left leg.

Athletic are also without Laporte, Vesga, Sannadi, Prados, Egiluz and Yeray, with the last four on long-term recoveries. Laporte has a muscle problem and Vesga has lower back discomfort, and Ernesto Valverde is hoping to have both available in the next matches.

As in recent weeks, the ‘cachorros’ Selton Sánchez, a midfielder, and Iker Monreal, a centre-back, keep their places.
