MD reports that Sevilla are exploring a move for 17-year-old Barcelona winger Toni Fernandez. Sergio Ramos is driving the interest as he prepares to purchase a leading stake in his boyhood club.

Barcelona intend to be busy this summer, but major incomings must be funded by departures given their financial issues. A centre-back and a striker are the priorities, and progress is being made on Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.

If Gordon arrives, one or two wide players could make way. Roony Bardghji is a candidate to leave, and the same could apply to Fernandez.

Fernandez has been on Flick’s radar despite being only 17 and wants to step up from Barca Atletic this summer. If a first-team promotion is not forthcoming, which would be almost certain if Gordon signs, a move looks very likely.

The success of Jan Virgili, who left Barcelona for Mallorca last summer, is seen as encouragement for clubs shopping La Masia. If Fernandez does depart, Barcelona are expected to keep control of his future, either via a significant sell-on clause or a buy-back option.
