Bafana Bafana forward Shandre Campbell received a straight red card for violent conduct as his team, Club Brugge, suffered a defeat against Sporting Charleroi in the Crocky Cup on Tuesday night.

The Belgian giants were knocked out in the quarter-finals of the competition as Ivorian winger Parfait Guiagon netted a first-half brace to hand his side a 2-0 win.

With Brugge chasing the game in what was their first outing of the new year, head coach Ivan Leko, who was appointed last month, called the South African international upon in the 86th minute.

However, it turned out to be a match to forget for Campbell, as he picked up the ball in his own half and dribbled past Jules Gaudin, who stopped him in his tracks by pulling his shirt.

The 20-year-old retaliated by chasing Gaudin and shoving him to the ground, which prompted a brawl, with the Charleroi players shoving Campbell back to the ground.

As a result, the SuperSport United academy graduate received his marching orders for instigating the fight deep in stoppage time.
