Former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has told Chelsea to sign a Newcastle United star in the January window.
But he also states that he doesn’t think it would be a very realistic pursuit and names it as an ‘impossible’ move to do this winter.
I don’t think many people would guess the name, but Wright-Phillips wants Chelsea to sign Malick Thiaw from Toon this winter.
Shaun Wright-Phillips was asked the question; ‘If Chelsea could buy one player in January, who would you want?’
The former Chelsea star replied; “It would be almost impossible,,,but if I could have anyone now, it would be Malick Thiaw from Newcastle United.
“I know he only joined from Milan in the summer, but if anyone has been watching him since his arrival, they’d know he hasn’t had a bad game yet.
“He does everything right. He reads the game well. When low crosses come into the box, he always seems to be in the right position.
“I hadn’t heard too much about him before he arrived, but since he’s arrived, he’s established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet for Eddie Howe.
“Obviously it’s a bit cruel of me to say Chelsea need to go and buy him already, but in terms of his ability, he’s exactly what that backline needs.
“I know they need experienced defenders too, but the thing about him is that he already plays as if he’s got that experience.”

Yes, wont happen, not right now at least, but a decent shout because it is an area that I still believe Chelsea need to improve and invest in.
He only joined Newcastle for £30m in the summer so unless for a ridiculous fee, he wont be going anywhere just yet.
