Shea Charles back in Southampton training amid Leeds United interest | OneFootball

Shea Charles has reported back for pre-season with Southampton as Leeds United maintain interest in the 22-year-old Northern Ireland midfielder.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds are targeting Charles for their second season back in the Premier League, and approaches have so far been rejected by Southampton, who are preparing for a second season back in the Championship.

Southampton resumed pre-season last week and Charles has now rejoined the group after an extended break. Images on social media showed him involved in training.

He was granted extra time off after Northern Ireland’s June friendlies against Guinea and France.

The Championship season begins over the weekend of Saturday, 15 August, while Southampton start competitive action earlier with a Carabao Cup first-round tie at Colchester United on Saturday, 8 August.
