Sheffield United claimed bragging rights in the Steel City once again, brushing aside rivals Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 thanks to a Tyrese Campbell double and a late Tom Cannon strike.
The Blades needed just 11 minutes to hit the front. Jairo Riedewald nicked possession high up the pitch, Callum O'Hare slipped in Campbell, and the striker swept a cool finish beyond Ethan Horvath.
The visitors looked far more dangerous throughout the half, with Danny Ings going close and Wednesday offering almost nothing in reply.
Just after the restart, Campbell struck again. Sydie Peck cut out a loose pass in midfield, the ball broke kindly down the left channel, and Campbell raced through before drilling a low effort inside the far post. It left Wednesday chasing shadows, their lack of attacking threat painfully clear as they failed to test Michael Cooper once.
United stayed in control and added a deserved third in stoppage time. Substitute Tom Cannon collected a pass on the edge of the box and his driven shot clipped a defender on its way into the bottom corner.
The victory gives Chris Wilder's side only their fourth league win of the campaign but moves them to within a point of safety. Wednesday, meanwhile, remain stranded at the foot of the table on -4 points after their administration penalty.
