FLW's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit Patrick has tipped the club to move striker Jamal Lowe on this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Jamal Lowe has been tipped to be moved on by the Yorkshire club this summer.

After three consecutive seasons in the Championship, Hillsborough will play host to League One football next season, with the Owls having been hit hard by points deductions thanks to financial infringements caused by disgraced former owner Dejphon Chansiri.

However, the mood around the Steel City side has been given a huge boost in the last week, with a consortium led by American businessman David Storch completing their acquisition of the club, preventing Wednesday from starting on -15 points next term.

The rebuilding job will begin this summer, with the Owls now able to purchase players for a fee having seen their transfer embargo lifted, which could spell plenty of change to Henrik Pedersen's playing squad in the coming months.

This, of course, means that some of Wednesday's current players will have to be moved on to make room for new signings, but who exactly could be on the chopping block in the upcoming transfer window?

Ahead of the summer transfer window, FLW spoke to their resident Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit, Patrick McKenna, to see who would be top of his list to move on in the coming weeks.

"I think Jamal Lowe probably finds himself at the top of that list," Patrick responded.

"His time at Sheffield Wednesday has been severely underwhelming. I expected a lot more from him, but over his time here, he hasn't put effort [in] for any consistent period of time.

"Last season we needed him to step up, but he didn't. He got a lot of time as a forward last season and kind of drifted at times.

"He didn't influence games and his goalscoring return was pretty meager as well.

"He is the wrong side of 30, so it's not as if he's a younger player who has a bit more time on his side.

"I was hoping for more [from Lowe] this season, but if we're starting [in] League One [with] players like Jamal Lowe who did disappoint last season, you'd like to see him moved one.

"We've got some younger players like [Will] Grainger and [Devlan] Moses who you felt game time was limited by Jamal Lowe.

"I wish his time here had been more successful, and I was advocating for him to be one of those players with experience to take into our League One campaign, but yes, we should be looking to get rid of him in the summer," Patrick concluded.

Jamal Lowe could be a valuable asset in League One for Sheffield Wednesday

It's fair to Lowe's time on the blue side of the Steel City hasn't lived up to expectations, with just eight goals and six assists to his name in 76 appearances across all competitions since his arrival in the summer of 2024.

The Jamaican isn't known as a lethal goalscorer, with just two seasons in his entire career where he hit double figures in league goals, one of which came in the Championship.

The other was with Portsmouth in League One back in 2018/19, where Lowe netted 15 goals and chipped in with nine assists, where Pompey ultimately fell to defeat in the play-off semi-finals.

Whilst this was a while ago, Lowe's experience at the level could make him worth keeping at the club, particularly with the sheer quantity of younger players he could help mentor, even if he did limit their minutes.
