Inter have qualified for the Champions League semifinals, and their strong team spirit has emerged as one of the key aspects of their successful European campaign.
A 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday allowed the Nerazzurri to qualify for the Champions League semis with a 4-3 aggregate win.
The Nerazzurri were among the favourites to lift the trophy at the beginning of the season and fans placing bets on the defending Serie A champions through GGBet proved to be wise as Simone Inzaghi’s men are now among the top four clubs in Europe while other frontrunners such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid have been eliminated in the knockout phase.
“It’s a wonderful night, one which we’ve shared with our fans in our stadium,” Inzaghi said after the final whistle on Wednesday.
“We played two great matches; the boys were brilliant. This is a victory to be shared with the players, the Club and the fans. It’s been a long and difficult season, but one that’s bringing us a lot of joy. Doing this against a team like Bayern only adds to the satisfaction: they are an incredible team that maintains intensity throughout the 90 minutes, but we responded blow for blow, both in Munich and here at San Siro.

“This is a group that sacrifices and works hard. We’ve been together for almost four years, and we know we have a great team. This is a huge satisfaction and a reward for everything we’ve put in. Together with the staff, we try to put the players in the best possible condition. The group is very united, and we’ve all suffered together. We need to keep moving forward and enjoy these nights. San Siro truly moved us tonight.”
The team’s unity was also highlighted by captain Lautaro Martínez, who scored in each of the two fixtures against Bayern Munich.
“It was definitely a match we’ll remember for a long time: Inter have got serious heart. There’s so much work and sacrifice behind this result,” said the Argentine.
“Our schedule is a packed one, but Inter never give up – this team possesses heart, intelligence and character. We had to dig deep at times today, but we showed once again that we’re here to do great things. We always play to win everything; otherwise, there’s no point in playing this sport. I want to thank my teammates, the staff and our fans, who, like always, pushed us all the way. The match against Barcelona will be something special. They have a great history in this competition, but we’ll now focus on the league.”
Inter will face Barcelona in the semifinals, with the first leg played in Catalunya on April 30, while San Siro will host the decider the following week on May 6.
