Alexander Sørloth’s start to life at Atlético de Madrid couldn’t have gotten off to a better start.
The 28-year-old striker returned to LaLiga action on Monday and scored his first goal in new colours. The opposition? His former club Villarreal of course.
A flurry of first-half goals forced Madrid to dig deep on the stroke of half-time for an equaliser. And up popped their new signing.
Sørloth made a trademark run into the box and thumped home a header between two centrebacks to turn things 2-2.
It means he now has 18 goals in the calendar year, leading the charts across Europe.
