Spanish daily As has criticised José Mourinho after the Benfica coach, serving a ban, did not appear in a Bernabéu booth for Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over his side.
As said Real Madrid had reserved radio booth number six, the same space Hansi Flick used for the last El Clásico, yet Mourinho instead watched the match on the Benfica team bus.
The paper added that six club staff were stationed by the booth to manage his access.
Marca also examined Mourinho’s recent European record, noting a run of 10 Champions League knockout matches without a win and arguing he is no longer the Special One in that competition.
Benfica have returned from Madrid and now focus on Gil Vicente on Monday, 2 March, in Barcelos. Mourinho will give his pre-match media briefing on Sunday, 1 March, at 10:00.
