Stade Rennais start with 27 at La Piverdière under Franck Haise | OneFootball

Stade Rennais held their first full session of the season at La Piverdière on Wednesday morning under Franck Haise, two days after the squad returned on Monday.

According to L'Équipe, players completed two days of medical and physical tests before working together for the first time. The group numbered 27, including the new arrivals Adrien Thomasson, Issa Soumaré, Gonçalo Oliveira and Nicolas Lemaître, plus goalkeepers Lemaître, Mathys Silistrie and Kilian Belazzoug.

Young forward Elias Legendre Quinonez and Oliveira are on individual programmes. The Moroccans Abdelhamid Aït-Boudlal and Yassir Zabiri are on staggered returns.

Absent are the World Cup players Brice Samba, Seko Fofana, Mousa Al-Tamari, Alidu Seidu and Breel Embolo. Once eliminated, they have three weeks off.

Set to leave, midfielder Glen Kamara, defender Mikayil Faye and attacking midfielder Ayanda Sishuba have been excused from the restart. Rennes visit PSG on the opening weekend of L1, the weekend of 22 August, and play Caen (L3) in their first friendly on 9 July.
