Sunderland and Bournemouth ‘to step up’ £30m pursuit of Tarik Muharemović amid Juventus buy-back possibility | OneFootball

Sunderland and Bournemouth could make concrete moves for Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemović in the coming days. Tuttosport reports that the Premier League pair are ready to step up their interest, with Juventus said to be some way behind.

Muharemović, 23, was born in Slovenia and represents Bosnia and Herzegovina, having captained the under-21s and earned senior caps.

He came through at Wolfsberger AC in Austria, making five first-team appearances before joining Juventus in 2021. Most of his time in Turin was with Juventus Next Gen in Serie C, where he played 47 league games and scored twice.

A loan to Sassuolo in 2024 proved pivotal as he became an important figure in their Serie B title win and immediate return to Serie A. The move was made permanent the following year and he has since made 32 Serie A appearances, scoring twice.

Across his career he has 136 senior club outings and six goals, plus 17 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina. His market value is estimated at around £21.5m to £30m, while Juventus are also said to hold buy-back and sell-on clauses and could re-sign him for about £15.5m.
