According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland interim CEO Tom Burwell is set to meet supporter representatives in the coming weeks after widespread ticketing and communication concerns during renewals.

Supporter group Red and White Army said talks with the club are ongoing, with a meeting with Burwell expected for the week beginning the fourth of May. The group is gathering fan views ahead of its next structured dialogue.

Complaints reported span failed direct debits, seat allocation errors and persistent problems selecting or relocating seats. Fans say the issues are not isolated, affecting different age groups, seating areas and ticket types.

Communication has also been a flashpoint, with a lack of clarity and consistency cited when problems are raised. Similar experiences have been reported across the stadium, from the Jimmy Montgomery Suite to corporate areas, 76 Yards and general admission.

New cases continue to emerge as Sunderland adjusts to life back in the Premier League. The meeting is expected to allow supporter representatives to put concerns directly to senior figures. The club has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Burwell has previously said the club want to preserve their bond with supporters while avoiding undue financial strain, and that growing revenues is vital to reinvest in the team. He described the current approach as long planned rather than reactive, aimed at keeping the club competitive for years to come, and called this season a first step that enables decisions from a position of strength.
