Sunderland are being linked with a £60.3m triple move, with fresh lines on Kerim Alajbegović, Lutsharel Geertruida and Mariano Troilo. According to Voetbal International, Liverpool are currently not in contact over Geertruida, which may strengthen Sunderland’s hand.
Alajbegović, 18, impressed for Red Bull Salzburg last season, with 44 games, 13 goals and four assists. Leverkusen have re-signed him but his future is uncertain, and Roma are said to have contacted them about a €30million, roughly £25.9million, deal, while Sunderland monitor.
Geertruida joined on loan from RB Leipzig in September 2025, making 30 appearances under Régis Le Bris. In January Liverpool assessed right-back options while Conor Bradley was injured, but no deal materialised despite claims of personal terms.
Arne Slot’s exit and Andoni Iraola’s arrival have changed the picture. Sunderland would like to keep Geertruida, but he is focused on the World Cup and any decision may wait. He is contracted to Leipzig until 2029 and valued at about €20million, approximately £17.2million.
Sunderland face competition for Troilo, with Fulham reported to be preparing a €20million, about £17.2million, offer for the Parma centre-back. The Argentine made 23 appearances and scored a San Siro winner against AC Milan, while Sunderland’s interest dates to May. Parma are not thought to be under pressure to sell.
Former Sunderland winger Jack Diamond is attracting interest after 15 goal involvements for Stockport County last season. Portsmouth and Lincoln City are monitoring the 26-year-old ahead of the new campaign.
