Football Insider reports that Sunderland expect a £50 million-plus bid for Robin Roefs this summer, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool monitoring the goalkeeper.
The report adds that the recent signing of Melker Ellborg was planned with prospective interest in mind, providing cover now and a succession option if required.
Roefs has impressed since arriving at the Stadium of Light last year, establishing himself as Regis Le Bris’ first choice and earning praise for his shot-stopping, area command and composure.
Sunderland moved last week for Ellborg in a £3 million deal from Malmo. His arrival allowed Anthony Patterson to join Championship side Millwall on loan, where he has linked up with former head coach Alex Neil.
talkSPORT has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a move for Roefs, with Inter Milan eyeing Guglielmo Vicario and the Sunderland keeper viewed as a possible replacement.
