Newcastle United said Sven Botman has undergone successful surgery on a facial fracture and will be out for a spell.
He sustained the injury in a second-half collision with Brian Brobbey during Sunday’s Tyne-Wear derby at St James' Park.

He was substituted in line with concussion protocol.
He is not expected to be sidelined for an extended period and hopes to be available in the closing weeks of the season.
His season is not yet over.
