FC Bayern could be looking to temporarily offload a promising talent in the coming weeks. According to BILD, AC Milan are looking closely at Magnus Dalpiaz, with a loan abroad currently under discussion
As reported by BILD, talks are currently underway between FC Bayern and AC Milan regarding a possible loan of Magnus Dalpiaz. The 18-year-old defender is regarded as one of the most exciting talents of his age group at Bayern, but has not yet been given a permanent role in the record champions‘ professional squad
A model is being discussed that should be attractive for both sides. Milan would initially loan out Dalpiaz and secure a purchase option. At the same time, the Munich club would like to establish a buy-back right in order to retain long-term control over the player’s sporting future. Concrete figures are currently being negotiated, with the purchase option said to be in the moderate million range, while the buy-back right for FC Bayern would be set significantly higher
For the Rossoneri, Dalpiaz is therefore not a short-term emergency transfer, but a development project with clear prospects. In Milan, the youngster is expected to be introduced to the professional squad at an early stage and gain match practice at a high level at the same time. The club has proven several times in recent years that it builds up young players in a structured manner and gradually gives them responsibility

From FC Bayern’s point of view, a loan abroad would be a logical step. Dalpiaz is considered highly talented internally, but currently has no clear prospects in the professional team. Competition at full-back is fierce, and regular playing time in Munich would hardly be guaranteed in the short term
A loan to a renowned club such as AC Milan could help the defender to gain important match practice and develop further at international level. FC Bayern has used precisely this model several times in the past to introduce talented players to professional soccer without having to hand them over permanently
The contractual framework is also exciting: Dalpiaz only extended his contract with FC Bayern early in April 2025 until 2028, sending a clear signal early on that they believe in the player in the long term and do not want to let him go
Campus boss Markus Weinzierl already had clear words for the young defender when the contract was extended: „Magnus is a top full-back who also has a goal threat. We believe in his great potential and are very pleased that we were able to convince him to continue together,“ said Weinzierl at the time. At the same time, he emphasized: „We are very excited about his next steps in his development.“
These next steps could now take place in Italy. AC Milan is regarded as a demanding but supportive environment for young players. In Serie A in particular, a lot of emphasis is placed on tactical training – an aspect that could help Dalpiaz in his development
Dalpiaz’s career is unusual anyway. The defender is the son of former Austrian national ice hockey goalkeeper Claus Dalpiaz. Magnus was born in Innsbruck, but grew up in Germany. He joined the youth ranks of SpVgg Unterhaching in 2016 via TSV Neubeuern and TSV Brannenburg before moving to FC Bayern three-and-a-half years later
At international level, Dalpiaz has so far only played for the Austrian junior national teams and is currently a member of the U18 team. However, he received all of his soccer training in Germany – a fact that makes him particularly interesting for many clubs.
