We took at the players missing on both sides as Plymouth Argyle travel to Norwich City on Tuesday night

Norwich City welcome Plymouth Argyle to Carrow Road on Tuesday night, looking to get back to winning ways at home after a 2-0 loss to Bristol City prior to the international break brought their year-long unbeaten run at Carrow Road to an end.

The Canaries have had some torrid luck with injuries this season, but Johannes Hoff Thorup has started to see players return, and it shouldn't be too long until their injury crisis is over.

Meanwhile, Plymouth will be buoyed by their late draw against Watford on Friday night ahead of their trip to East Anglia, but they have plenty of injury concerns of their own, so it'll be interesting to see how both sides line up come 18:45 on Tuesday when the teams are announced.

With that in mind, here are the players set to miss Norwich City vs Plymouth Argyle.

Norwich City

Kellen Fisher

Kellen Fisher picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in Saturday's draw with West Brom, meaning he will serve a one-match ban and miss their fixture with Plymouth.

The right-back has played 11 Championship games this season for the Canaries, registering one assist in their draw with Preston North End last month.

Jose Córdoba

In his pre-match press conference, Thorup confirmed that defender Córdoba would be out for at least three games, meaning he'll miss Tuesday's game with Plymouth as well as the weekend's game against Luton Town and the trip to QPR.

The Panama international joined from Bulgarian side Levski Sofia in the summer and has played 13 Championship games so far this season, but missed the trip to West Brom on Saturday and will be out for a short period of time.

Gabe Forsyth

Youngster Gabe Forsyth went off injured in the Canaries' defeat to Cardiff City earlier this month, an injury which is set to keep him out for at least a month, meaning Tuesday's clash with the Pilgrims will come too soon for him.

The 18-year-old has made an impression in Norwich's first-team this season, and he's played seven games in all competitions, including five in the Championship, making two starts.

Marcelino Nunez

Midfielder Marcelino Nunez sustained an injury against Stoke City last month, being unavailable since, and he wasn't named as one of the players returning from injury by Thorup last week, so it looks as if he'll be unavailable again on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old had started all ten of the Canaries' league fixtures prior to injury, and he's a big miss, so they'll be hoping that he returns in the very near future, and that looks to be the case judging by Thorup's recent comments.

He told his pre-match press conference: "Marcelino (Núñez) has been back in training today, and had a big smile on his face. Tomorrow is too soon for his return though."

Josh Sargent

Star striker Josh Sargent is set to be out injured until the New Year, so he won't feature on Tuesday when Plymouth visit Home Park.

The American international had made an impressive start to the Championship campaign, scoring four goals and registering five assists, but with Thorup announcing that the likes of Ashley Barnes and Onel Hernandez were all back, it gives him some much-needed options in attacking positions.

Plymouth Argyle

Conor Hazard

Conor Hazard was ruled out for three months after suffering an ankle injury at the start of September against Stoke City, so while he's unavailable for the trip to Carrow Road, he is edging closer to a return.

The Northern Irish international became Wayne Rooney's first choice after Michael Cooper's summer move to Sheffield United but has since been replaced by Daniel Grimshaw.

Joe Edwards

Skipper Joe Edwards will be out until 2025 after suffering a hamstring injury against Preston North End last month, meaning he's unavailable for the clash with the Canaries.

The 34-year-old is an experienced head and provides Rooney's side with vast experience, having made 234 appearances for the club, so while he's a big miss, supporters will hope that he makes a full recovery.

Brendan Galloway

Central defender Brendan Galloway has been out injured since suffering an injury in October playing for Zimbabwe in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia, and although he's not too far off a return, Tuesday's trip to Norfolk will come too soon for him.

The 28-year-old has made six appearances for Plymouth this season, with five of them coming in the Championship.

Ibrahim Cissoko

Toulouse loanee Ibrahim Cissoko suffered a hip injury in Plymouth's defeat to Cardiff City earlier this month which required surgery, so he will be out until after January.

It's a huge blow for Rooney as Cissoko had become a key player for the club in his early weeks at Home Park, scoring three goals and registering an assist in 10 Championship appearances, and Norwich will be relieved to see that he's unavailable for Tuesday's game.

Muhamed Tijani

It's not been an ideal start to life at Home Park for Muhamed Tijani, and he's ruled out until 2025 after suffering a torn hamstring at the beginning of October.

The Slavia Prague loanee has played just three games and 96 minutes of football since his arrival in the summer, and everyone at the club will be hoping for better luck when he returns in the new year.

Morgan Whittaker

According to Plymouth Live, Morgan Whittaker is a doubt for Tuesday's game after going off injured against Watford on Friday night with a toe injury, so it remains to be seen whether he'll feature at Carrow Road.

Whittaker hasn't been anywhere near as influential for the Pilgrims as he was last season, but he's still an important player who's capable of conjuring up moments of magic, so everybody at the club will hope that he's fit come Tuesday night.
