The January transfer window is just over a month away and there are several top players who are being linked with moves away from their current clubs.
Here are some of the best who could be on the move…
Being heavily linked with a move to link up with recently departed Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, it is surely only a matter of time before Gyokeres makes a big money move. The Swedish striker has scored an outstanding 16 league goals in 11 games this season having scored 29 in 33 league games last season. One of Europe’s most lethal strikers will attract plenty of interest elsewhere too.
Also long linked with a move to Manchester United. Branthwaite has recently returned from injury and is one of the Premier League’s most exciting young defenders with great speed and size. Everton will command a hefty transfer fee, however, especially if he is to go in the middle of a season.
The Cameroonian forward has taken his game to another level following the departure of Brentford’s former talisman Ivan Toney. Able to play wide or through the middle, Mbeumo has scored eight goals in 11 Premier League games so far this season and is a menace running in behind thanks to his lightning pace.
Germany midfielder Wirtz is unsurprisingly attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs, according to reports. He helped Bayer Leverkusen to a shock Bundesliga title win last season and his technical ability to impact games in the final third as well as his incredible work ethic has clubs queuing up to sign him.
The Lille midfielder has been a feature of the England squad of late and is being linked with a return to former club Manchester United, having previously turned down opportunities to return to England since moving to France.
Real Madrid midfielder Guler is being linked with a loan move away from the club in January, with Arsenal among the clubs interested according to Spanish news publication Sport.
The 20-year-old Sporting defender has been consistently linked with a move to England and is being so again following former boss Ruben Amorim’s move to Manchester United.
Not the Manchester City goalkeeper, but the Atalanta midfielder. The Brazilian midfielder has impressed for the Serie A side and helped his club to the Europa League trophy last season, with Man City among those said to be keen.
The Bayern Munich full-back is being linked with Manchester United, among others, but is still a regular in the Bayern team. He is out of contract in the summer of 2025, however, meaning his future is uncertain.
