Football League World takes a look at who each League One club's highest-paid player is.
League One clubs are vying for success at the business end of the season, with the title, automatic promotion and relegation all still to be decided.
Cardiff City are primed for an immediate Championship return, whereas Port Vale appear destined for relegation to League Two, after being promoted from the fourth tier just last season.
The likes of Bolton Wanderers and Lincoln City are battling for promotion to the second tier, whereas clubs such as Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United are in a desperate fight against relegation.
Meanwhile, excluding loan players, Football League World takes a look at every League One side's highest-paid star, using estimates from Salary Sport.

Wimbledon are hoping to comfortably survive in the third tier following last season's League Two play-off success, which ended a two-year stay in the fourth tier.
Meanwhile, Salary Sport estimates that the Dons' highest-paid player is Marcus Browne, taking home a weekly wage of £3,900 and a yearly salary of £202,800.

Barnsley striker David McGoldrick is an EFL icon who has previously starred for the likes of Ipswich Town, Sheffield United, and Derby County.
Perhaps it is no surprise that, as per Salary Sport, he is the South Yorkshire side's best-paid player, earning £6,400 per week and £332,800 a year.

Lancashire outfit Blackpool were relegated from the Championship in 2023, and are now vying to secure their League One status under the stewardship of former Bolton boss Ian Evatt.
Ex-Leeds United and Burnley goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell is an influential figure at Bloomfield Road, and earns £23,000 per week according to Salary Sport's estimates.

Bolton have not featured in the Championship since 2019, and are hoping to change that come the end of the season.
Amid the Wanderers' promotion push, their highest-paid player, as per Salary Sport, is Amario Cozier-Duberry, taking home an estimated £13,000 per week, equating to a yearly salary of £676,000.

Graham Alexander's Bradford City are battling to earn back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship, and enjoy the services of several talented third-tier assets.
Meanwhile, Salary Sport indicates that former Barnsley forward Stephen Humphrys is the West Yorkshire club's highest earner, enjoying a weekly wage of £4,600.

Burton Albion signed George Evans on a free transfer, following his Wrexham departure last summer.
Salary Sport estimates show that the midfielder receives a weekly wage of £5,200, totalling £270,400 per year.

Several Cardiff stars also featured for the Bluebirds in the Championship, including former Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, who is the South Wales outfit's best-paid permanent player.
According to Salary Sport, the centre-back earns £32,000 per week.

Glenn Middleton joined Doncaster on a free transfer last summer, having previously played for Scottish Premiership outfit Dundee United.
As per Salary Sport, the 26-year-old is the Yorkshire side's top earner, enjoying a weekly wage of £4,200.

Exeter City are currently enjoying their fourth successive season in League One, after winning automatic promotion from League Two in 2022.
Salary Sport's estimates show that Danny Andrew is the Devon club's highest-paid player, earning £3,400 a week and £176,800 a year.

Striker Alfie May previously proved his clinical instincts in League One for both Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, winning the League One title with Blues last term.
