Leeds United enter the run-in with seven games to secure Premier League safety, on 33 points from 31 and four clear of the drop, above West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, a strongest starting XI has been set out to address the goals issue and steer them over the line.
Leeds have failed to score in their last four league fixtures. A contentious red card and a missed penalty call have not helped, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s output has dipped.
That picture could shift after the break, with two returns in Noah Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson. In goal, Karl Darlow has steadied things since replacing Lucas Perri, producing excellent saves and offering calmer distribution. He appears to give the back line confidence.
At centre-back, Joe Rodon has played more league minutes than any teammate and offers vital athletic cover, including in a recent hybrid right-back role. Jaka Bijol is the primary box defender and a major set-piece threat. Pascal Struijk defends on the front foot and, as the only left-footed centre-back, anchors build-up.
On the right, Jayden Bogle is favoured over James Justin for greater attacking thrust, and he is comfortable stepping higher when Rodon pulls wide. The proposed line-up is designed to restart the attack and keep Leeds clear in a tight relegation fight.
