Xabi Alonso hit out at the referee after Real Madrid’s match against Celta Vigo last night which ended in a 2-0 defeat for Los Blancos.
After all, there was a lot of rage directed towards the official from Real Madrid’s bench throughout the game, especially given how he recklessly suspended the team’s players for minor infringements.
In fact, the team finished the game with nine players after Fran Garcia and Alvaro Carreras were sent off and even had Endrick and Dani Carvajal sanctioned and shown red cards for their actions off the field.
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo in a recent report, Garcia faces the least of the suspensions and will miss just one game after seeing two yellow cards on the night. He will be unavailable against Deportivo Alaves but is expected to return for the game after.
For Carreras, who was penalised and shown a red card for calling the referee ‘terrible’, the sanction is much stronger. As per Article 124, he will miss at least two games and possibly even more based on how severe his slander towards the referee is considered.

Endrick, who was on Real Madrid’s bench, was reportedly given his red card for ‘getting up from the bench and arguing with the fourth official to a point where he had to be held back by the coaching staff.”
As per Article 127, he is also at risk of a suspension of more than two games.
The final cautioned player was Dani Carvajal, who is ironically injured and was not even on the list of substitutes.
The captain’s harsh words to the referee after the game make him a candidate to also serve a two-game suspension, although his injury would have meant he would already miss the said games.
However, the club will have to pay a compensatory fine for his actions and words as per Article 255 of the General Regulations.
