CAF has issued bans and heavy fines after the stormy AFCON final, and rejected Morocco's attempt to void the result.

Senegal won 1-0 after extra time on 18 January. CAF's disciplinary committee confirmed Pape Thiaw received a five-match ban and a $100,000 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct after he told his players to leave the pitch at the end of the match following a penalty for Morocco.

The Senegalese federation was fined $615,000 over the conduct of the team and supporters. Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaïla Sarr were given two-match bans in CAF competitions for unsportsmanlike behaviour towards the referee.

The committee also dismissed the host nation's request to annul the result after Senegal's walk-off led to a 14-minute stoppage.

Morocco were fined $315,000 for the behaviour of ball boys, actions by players and staff in the VAR area, and the use of lasers by supporters.

Achraf Hakimi received a two-match ban, one suspended, and Ismaël Saibari was given three matches in CAF competitions. They were found to have acted in an unsportsmanlike manner after attempting to remove goalkeeper Édouard Mendy's towel from the touchline amid heavy rain in Rabat.
