Thomas Frank says Tottenham have ‘very serious’ owners following Paratici comments | OneFootball

Thomas Frank has backed Tottenham’s owners following comments from former sporting director Fabio Paratici.

Paratici left Spurs in January and has now joined Fiorentina. In his unveiling at the Serie A club, he said: “It may have seemed like a rash decision (to leave Tottenham) but it was actually a brave one. Brave because when you make a rash decision you don’t know what you’re doing. 

“When you make a brave one it’s because you’ve weighed it up and mulled over the reasons to take it. In my case Fiorentina have a serious set of owners, a very serious set of owners who are of great value. I had the desire to come back and compete in Serie A.

“It’s a top league, very tough. To do it with these owners, who are very serious, and infrastructure that’s super international, a brand known all over the world and people who share my ideas on.”

Paratici mentioned that his new club Fiorentina have serious owners three times, and Frank was asked in his press conference if he thought it was a dig, and whether Tottenham have serious owners.

He said: “We have very, very serious owners. I don’t understand why you need to ask that. I can only laugh about that. Yes very, very, very serious.”

Expanding on his initial comments, he said: “I speak to them and am together with them, and I am not in doubt (that they are serious). I think it is a little bit unfair, if not very unfair to judge them on a January transfer window. This is the only window they have been in charge for.”
