Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzgovina are all aiming to call up teenage Inter Milan midfielder Luka Topalovic at senior level.
This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that Croatia in particular are pushing to convince the 18-year-old to commit his future.
At the moment, Topalovic is playing or Inter’s Primavera or Under-19 team.
The teenage midfielder arrived at Inter last summer, He signed from Slovenian club Domzale.
And while Topalovic certainly has a lot of growing left to do, there have been many positive signs.
The 18-year-old had a standout performance against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Youth League. He scored a brace and won a penalty in a 3-2 victory.
At national team level, meanwhile, Topalovic has yet to make an appearance for any senior team.
The teenager has represented Slovenia at youth team levels. They are the country of his birth.
However, Topalovic would also be eligible for a couple other national teams.
The young Inter midfielder’s parents are from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzgovina.
Therefore, Topalovic could represent either of those two countries’ national teams.
And according to FCIN, both have shown an interest in calling Topalovic up at senior level.
And in particular, the outlet report, Croatia have been taking steps in recent weeks to try and convince the 18-year-old.
