Tomás Perez did not train with FC Porto on Thursday and has travelled to Brazil, with a loan to Atlético Mineiro progressing.
According to O Jogo, the agreement is at the document exchange stage, a loan until December with an option to buy set at €5.5 million for 80 per cent of his registration.
Porto also retain the right to recall the 20-year-old midfielder at the end of June, which would bring him back for next season.
The Argentine trained at Olival yesterday but has not been used by Francesco Farioli, and has been named on the bench five times. He hopes for minutes at Atlético Mineiro, where he would link up with former Porto idol Hulk.
Perez arrived at the Dragão a little over a year ago in the winter window of 2025, joining from Newell's Old Boys for €3 million at the request of then coach Martín Anselmi. He made eight appearances last season, only one from the start, and under Farioli has featured five times for the B team.
