Yan Diomande no longer occupies a priority spot on Bayern’s transfer shortlist ahead of the summer window.
Munich insider Christian Falk confirmed that the Bavarian giants are still very much appreciative of the RB Leipzig winger’s qualities.
However, the overwhelming price tag associated with the Ivorian means that the reigning Bundesliga champions will instead turn their focus elsewhere.
The simple fact of the matter is that FC Bayern want to sign an understudy to first-choice Luis Diaz on the left wing.
Diomande, however, who is expected to cost north of £86.2m, is simply too much money for what would effectively be a backup signing.
“It is TRUE: Yan Diomande is no longer a priority for Bayern’s decision-makers,” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“He obviously has so much quality and is playing very well in the Bundesliga this term. So, he’s not off the list because he’s a poor player, but rather because he’s too good and too expensive! Bayern know how much RB Leipzig are looking for in a transfer fee (negotiations will start at €100m [£86.2m]) and it’s a lot! Certainly more than what Bayern are prepared to pay at the moment.
“And the fact of the matter is that they already have Luis Diaz, who is the main man on the left side. They can’t pay so much money for what would effectively be a backup signing.
“So, it’s hard for Bayern Munich, given they love the player, but they won’t be involved in the poker with Premier League clubs. He’s too expensive.”
It’s unsurprising that the 19-year-old’s value has shot through the roof this term, given his astonishing form across his debut season in the Bundesliga.

The wide man has registered 11 goals and seven assists in 27 games (across all competitions) in the 2025/26 season.
Liverpool and Manchester United have to be considered firm leaders in the race.
The reasoning behind the Merseysiders’ interest, of course, is plain for all to see. Barring when Rio Ngumoha enters the pitch (rare occasion that it is), Arne Slot’s men are sorely lacking pace, dynamism and aggression on the left flank.
Mind, the right side isn’t exceptionally better, with an ageing Mo Salah finding himself unable to be as effective without his blistering pace.

Diomande, able to play on both flanks, fixes both problems for Liverpool – at the very least until they can find a bona fide starter to succeed the Egyptian on the right.
United, meanwhile, admire a player who would simply bolster an assortment of riches already in the forward line.
