Tottenham Hotspur collected a much needed spark with a 2-0 victory against Brentford, yet the result arrived with an unwelcome subplot for Thomas Frank. Goals from Richarlison and Xavi Simons settled the contest, easing some of the pressure surrounding recent league form, but the sight of Randal Kolo Muani limping out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium quickly shifted attention toward the squad’s fitness picture.
Kolo Muani, who has become central to Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking structure, was substituted after 74 minutes. The on loan forward was later seen struggling as he left the ground. The head coach was not asked about his condition after the Brentford match, and supporters now wait for confirmation when he speaks at Monday’s press conference. With fixtures tightening and Champions League ambitions still finely poised, any absence would be a significant blow.

The schedule intensifies immediately. Spurs face Slavia Prague on Tuesday in the Champions League and require a win to keep themselves in contention for a top eight finish in the league phase, which guarantees automatic progression to the knockout rounds. An open training session will take place on Monday morning, offering the first indication of who might be available.
Kolo Muani has started seven of Tottenham Hotspur’s last eight fixtures, stepping up effectively while Dominic Solanke recovers. His blend of movement and link play has been central to the current system, and Frank will be acutely aware of how his absence may reshape attacking options.
Victory against Brentford might have steadied nerves, but Frank’s squad management remains a delicate balancing act. Destiny Udogie missed the Brentford fixture after sustaining a soft tissue issue during the 2-2 draw at Newcastle. His manager kept the outlook cautiously positive, saying: “Not too long. He got a soft tissue injury, unfortunately, against Newcastle.”

Even so, losing a progressive full back who stretches play on the left alters the dynamic for Spurs, especially in matches that demand width and controlled build up. With two high stakes games inside a week, every selection decision carries added weight.
After Slavia Prague, Tottenham Hotspur travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, another opportunity to build momentum in the Premier League. Brentford’s defeat offered a reminder that Frank’s team, when balanced and confident, have the tools to compete with intensity and clarity. The challenge now is continuity. Stability in performance often begins with stability in availability, and that is precisely what Spurs lack as they enter a defining spell.
If Tottenham Hotspur can navigate these injury concerns and maintain the energy shown against Brentford, their prospects in Europe and domestically remain firmly within reach. Much, however, depends on Monday’s medical updates and how the side adapts in a period that demands resilience, precision and tactical discipline.
