Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an enquiry to sign Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams this summer.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club have already strengthened their defensive ranks with the additions of Martin Dubravka, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke.
However, it appears Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi still wants more signings in the position, with Djed Spence linked with an exit.
Williams is not short of suitors this summer, with Newcastle United and Manchester United also keen on the ‘incredible’ 25-year-old.
The Forest star is primarily a left-back but also plays as a right-back, and his versatility used to blow Jurgen Klopp away during their Liverpool days.
Tottenham could do with Williams’ experience and quality, but a move is likely to depend on Spence’s future.
The Wales international will also prefer to join a club where he is guaranteed a spot in the starting XI. Spurs have Spence, Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie and Robertson as their available full-backs heading into next season.
The Lilywhites are not playing in Europe next season, and while that has not deterred some of their transfer targets, Williams could be open to moving to where Champions League football is available.
Forest are desperate to hold on to the Welshman and are confident of securing a new deal.
Williams has three more years to run on his current deal but the City Ground club want to reward him with an improved contract.
It is unknown whether Spurs will make any concrete offer for him, but more signings are expected in the coming weeks as De Zerbi eyes an explosive start to the new season.
