Sunderland have been linked with Schalke midfielder Soufiane El-Faouzi, while Tottenham are weighing a potential move for goalkeeper Robin Roefs.
According to Sky Germany, Sunderland are among several clubs tracking El-Faouzi after his strong season. Schalke value him at around €12m, and want to keep him. He is said to be content at the club, with no concrete talks elsewhere as he focused on their promotion bid.
Brentford, Bologna and Celtic are also interested. Stade Rennes have been mentioned, although they are not expected to be his next destination.
Football Insider reports Tottenham are considering Roefs if they retain Premier League status, and that he joins a shortlist including James Trafford and Bart Verbruggen. The outlet previously reported Sunderland would expect offers above £50m for the Dutchman, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City linked in recent months.
Sunderland are expected to resist a sale after his standout first campaign in England. Roefs signed from NEC Nijmegen last summer for around £11.5m and has quickly become a key figure under Régis Le Bris.
