Nathan De Cat is one of the most exciting talents in Europe – and the Bundesliga has long since taken notice. Alongside FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen are now also getting involved in the transfer poker.

The list of clubs watching Nathan De Cat is getting longer by the day. The 17-year-old from RSC Anderlecht is one of the most exciting young players in Belgium and is enjoying an impressive debut season in the Belgian top flight. His physical presence, intelligence and flexibility in the center have made him one of the most sought-after midfield talents – and three top German clubs are keen on him.

As Sky recently revealed, FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund are scouting the youngster very intensively. Now Bayer Leverkusen, which is known for its aggressive youth strategy, is also getting involved. One thing is clear: the deal will not be cheap.

Anderlecht demand 25 million euros

According to Sky, Anderlecht are asking for a transfer fee of around 25 million euros – a hefty price for a 17-year-old. Unlike other top talents, the Belgian does not have a fixed exit clause, which means that Anderlecht are negotiating from a position of strength.

Bayern see De Cat as a potential successor to Goretzka for the future. Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl and Sports Director Christoph Freund are said to be keen to bring the midfielder to Säbener Straße. Vincent Kompany also knows the youngster from his time at Anderlecht – a plus point for the record champions.

BVB’s close connection to Julien Duranville’s family could be an advantage in the bidding. Dortmund specialize in signing and developing exceptional young players – a path that could also appeal to De Cat.

High-flyer at Anderlecht: a regular at the age of just 17

De Cat has only been a permanent member of Anderlecht’s professional squad since the summer – but he immediately played his way into the team. The 1.92-metre midfielder made 13 appearances in the starting eleven, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

He combines technique with physicality, has an excellent overview and is considered unusually mature tactically for his age. It is precisely this profile that makes him so attractive.

His contract at Anderlecht runs until 2027, so there are many indications that the 2026 summer transfer window, or even before, could be a hot one.
