Even silly season doesn't get a rest on Sunday. Today's speculation features Crystal Palace's pondering of replacements for Marc Guehi and Jean-Philippe Mateta and Atletico Madrid's asking price for Julian Alvarez.
It's been a difficult month forCrystal Palace. The Eagles have lost captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City in a cut-price deal, while leading scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta wants out too. Those blows have come alongside Oliver Glasner's grumpy announcement that he's off in the summer. Palace are in a pickle.
Give Me Sport are reporting that Palace are working hard to find a replacement for Guehi, but with top targets unavailable, a short-term option may be found until the summer. Mateta, meanwhile, continues to push for an exit, with Wolves' Jorgen Strand Larsen and Leeds United's forgotten forward Joel Piroe potential Premier League-based replacements.
Arsenal want Julian Alvarez, as reported in Saturday's rumour roundup. Football Insider claim Atletico Madrid will demand £80m for their leading scorer. Given the Spanish side spent £81.8m to sign the Argentine and a contract that runs until 2030, that seems a little low to us.
Liverpool are set to allow Andy Robertson to move to Spurs for a bargain £5m. Rather than recall the previously cast-off Kostas Tsimikas from a loan spell at Roma, TEAMtalk say Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson has been identified as a target. The USMNT defender came through the ranks at Merseyside rivals Everton.
Another American who could be on the move this month isRicardo Pepi. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Fulham have lodged a £28m offer for the PSV goal-getter, despite his current absence with a fractured forearm.
Aston Villa and Chelsea like the look of Paris Saint-Germain teen Ibrahim Mbaye, say Sky Sports, though the French champions are keen to tie the AFCON-winning starlet to a new deal.
Finally,Gianluca Di Marzio says Lazio have emerged as surprise suitors of Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam.
