Bayern Munich’s aura of invincibility was thoroughly tested as they drew 2-2 against Union Berlin on Saturday at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.
Luis Diaz scored a spectacular goal for the visitors, but Daniel Doekhi scored twice for the home side in either half to put them ahead.
Harry Kane then equalised for Bayern deep in stoppage time to score his 23rd goal of the season, as they maintained their unbeaten run.

Everyone expected Bayern to come all guns blazing, but it was the home side who created some fantastic early opportunities.
Ilyas Ansah scored a brilliant header from close range to put Berlin ahead, but after a thorough VAR check, he was ruled offside by the finest margins.
For a long spell in the first half, both sides tried to maintain possession without really threatening each other. In the 26th minute, Berlin took the lead when Daniel Doekhi scored with his right foot, but the goal was all down to a calamitous error from Manuel Neuer.
As the game progressed, Bayern started to play their natural passing game, but it took a superhuman effort from Luis Diaz to get the equaliser.
The Colombian played a nice interchange of passes with Josip Stanisic, and then produced individual brilliance from a difficult angle on the left to the high centre of the goal.
Ansah then produced a left-footed shot from the centre of the box, but Neuer saved it.
In the stoppage time, Diaz was presented with another golden opportunity to give Bayern the lead when Kane produced a sensational pass to put him through. However, the former Liverpool winger couldn’t beat the keeper in a one-on-one scenario. He is the “Latin Surprise Bag”.
Towards the end of the first half, Kane poked the ball into the empty net from close range, but he was rightly ruled out offside.
The second half started like a chess game, with Union Berlin matching Bayern’s intensity in midfield, and Janik Haberer tried an effort from distance, but it flew over the bar.
Kimmich got lucky with a deflection and played a clever pass to Michael Olise, who hit straight at Frederik Ronnow, and probably should have done better.
Bayern kept on maintaining pressure, and Leon Goretzka tried a pile driver just outside the box, but he couldn’t hit the target.
Kane failed to clear the danger with his header, and Daniel Doekhi was in the right spot to make it 2-1 for Union Berlin.
Just when it felt like Berlin were seconds away from victory, a moment of quality from Bayern saw them equalise through Harry Kane, who scored with a glancing header.
Here at CF Bayern Insider, we have rated the players out of 10.
Manuel Neuer – 3
It has to be the worst performance for Neuer this season. The Bayern legend made a calamitous error for Union Berlin’s first goal. Also could have done better with the second goal.
Konrad Laimer – 5
Laimer has been outstanding in recent games, but not today. He struggled defensively and lacked the sharp, incisive passing that we generally associate with him.
Dayot Upamecano – 7
While talks about his future continue to dominate headlines, the Frenchman has produced another strong performance, hinting that he is returning to his best form.
Jonathan Tah – 7
With two interceptions, four clearances, and three recoveries, it was another brilliant performance from him. He even attempted an effort on goal but couldn’t hit the target.
Josip Stanisic – 6
While Stanisic provided solidity at the back, his lack of involvement moving forward makes him somewhat one-dimensional.
Joshua Kimmich – 6
The pass master produced two key passes and created one big opportunity.
Leon Goretzka – 5
Invisible in the first half. Better in the second, as he attempted an audacious effort from outside the box.
Luis Diaz – 8
The Colombian scored an outrageous goal in the first half. He has made it a habit to score challenging goals, and he has probably been an upgrade over Leroy Sane. At the same time, he also missed an easy chance which could have given Bayern the lead.
Michael Olise – 6
The Frenchman struggled to make an impact at all during the game. He couldn’t pick the right players with his crosses, and couldn’t penetrate the defence with his mazy runs.
Serge Gnabry – 5
Gnabry made little or no impact at all during the game. Lost possession a few times and was rightly taken off after the break.
Harry Kane – 8
In the first half, Kane’s tap-in from close range was ruled out for offside, and he was partly responsible for Union Berlin’s second goal. But he redeemed himself by scoring in the stoppage time; his 13th in the Bundesliga and 23rd in all competitions.
Lennart Karl – NA
Alexander Pavlovic – NA
