The new adidas Champions League match ball.
An official Newcastle United announcement (see below) giving details below.
Some 50,000 United fans set to see it in the flesh on Thursday night.
Newcastle v Barcelona with an 8pm kick-off.
Twelve Champions League clubs playing on Tuesday night, another 12 tonight and 11 plus Newcastle United tomorrow.
Hopefully we will see this new adidas Champions League match ball nestling in the back of the Barcelona net a fair few times tomorrow night.
Can’t wait for this game to come around.

Newcastle United set to kick off with adidas’ latest Champions League match ball
adidas has unveiled the official match balls for the league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League and Women’s Champions League. These new designs will be used throughout the tournament by Newcastle United, who return to Europe’s top competition with a squad full of talent and ambition.
The [object Object] is inspired by the night sky, featuring gold-outlined stars and zodiac symbols that reflect the journey of Europe’s top clubs toward the final in Budapest. The Women’s Champions League ball draws from deep space and the northern lights, with vibrant neon details and a glowing finish, leading the way to Oslo.
Both footballs showcase the iconic UEFA star pattern and are built with adidas’ latest performance technology:
PRISMA surface for improved precision and swerve Outer texture coating for grip and control CTR-CORE for consistent shape and fast play, made with renewable natural rubber and bio-based materials like corn fibre and sugar cane In addition to performance, sustainability is a key focus. These are the most bio-based match balls adidas has ever produced, with each layer incorporating eco-friendly materials without compromising quality.
As part of adidas’ partnership with Common Goal, one per cent of global net sales from adidas footballs – including these – will support social impact projects around the world.
