Corinthians beat Barra 1-0 at Ressacada in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase. The night also saw Vitinho return after a three-match spell as an unused substitute.
As reported by Meu Timao, the forward was back in Fernando Diniz’s plans. He had been an unused substitute against Palmeiras and Vitória in the league and Independiente Santa Fe in the Libertadores, his longest wait since arriving in August 2025.
Vitinho entered after 15 minutes of the first half, replacing Kayke Ferrari, who felt his left knee after a misstep during an attacking move.
Across 75 minutes he had one effort saved by Ewerton and posted 36 actions on the ball with 79% passing accuracy. He also made two progressive carries and three recoveries, but lost possession 11 times.
Since arriving at Parque São Jorge, he has experienced different roles. Considered a 12th man under Dorival Júnior, he is now seeking to reclaim minutes with Diniz.
He has 36 appearances for the club, 12 as a starter, with one goal and four assists, and was part of the 2025 Copa do Brasil triumph. He remains available for Sunday at 16:00 against Vasco da Gama in the 13th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, initially scheduled for Neo Química Arena.
