Wesley Gassova in Donostia to sign for Real Sociedad | OneFootball

Real Sociedad are close to confirming their first signing of the Matarazzo era, with Wesley Gassova in Donostia to finalise the move.

According to AS, he reached the Costa Vasca hotel in the Gipuzkoan capital around 16:50, accompanied by Gorka Larrea, responsible for player liaison.

The 20-year-old winger will undergo medical tests this afternoon, then sign until the end of the season. He joins on loan from Al-Nassr, with an option to buy of about €12 million.

The signing would give Matarazzo cover for Take Kubo, who is sidelined for a few matches. It could also be a longer-term investment if the Japan international departs next summer.

At his midday press conference, Matarazzo said he likes and knows the player but will not discuss anyone not yet signed. He added the club are seeking an attacking player or someone able to compete in multiple roles, and that he would speak only once a decision is taken and the deal is complete because things can change.
