West Bromwich Albion are accelerating recruitment after confirming the arrival of 22-year-old striker Barney Stewart from Falkirk in an initial deal worth around £1.3million on Wednesday.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, talks for Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan are at an advanced stage, while a move for Liverpool teenager Carter Pinnington is close.
It is the first window since Bilkul Group’s 2024 takeover, with the club intent on early inroads and a focus that is not primarily on cutting losses. Albion have held talks with Karlan Grant over a new deal, and striker Josh Maja has been offered a contract.
Boss James Morrison is expected to complete his backroom team, with negotiations under way with Celtic over bringing Gavin Strachan to The Hawthorns.
Stewart made his professional debut only last year. He was spotted by Falkirk while playing as an amateur for Heriot Watt University after moving to Scotland to study sports science.
He struck 19 goals in his first full professional season, including 10 in the Scottish Premiership after a recall from a loan at Dunfermline.
The fee represents a club-record sale for Falkirk, with the potential for significant add-ons. Albion beat several English clubs to secure his signature.
