Despite persistent rumors linking Valentin Castellanos with a move to the Premier League, it appears a move to London is not as close as some might expect.
According to a report by Lalaziosiamonoi, while West Ham United hold a genuine admiration for the Lazio striker, they have never quite pulled the trigger on a formal pursuit.
The Hammers’ recruitment team is said to be quite fond of the Argentine’s profile, particularly his aggressive playing style and work rate, which many believe would translate well to the physical demands of English football. However, admiration has not yet turned into action. The report suggests that while “Taty” is liked, the East London club has never deeply explored the financial or logistical parameters of a deal with Lazio.
Instead of a move for the former Girona man, West Ham are currently expected to focus their resources and attention on other targets. Lazio, for their part, have shown no urgency to sell a player who has become a key component of their attacking rotation, especially without a massive offer on the table.
For now, Castellanos remains firmly in the capital of Italy rather than England. While his characteristics make him a recurring name in Premier League scouting reports, it seems West Ham’s priorities lie elsewhere as the January window approaches.
