John Terry would like Chelsea to bring Silva back, and his kids are still part of the Chelsea academy, whilst Silva himself has stated he’d love to coach the club one day.

Trevoh Chalobah on what he learnt from Thiago Silva

Chelsea certainly miss Silva both on and off the pitch, but he’s clearly had a lasting impact on a number of players including Chalobah.

Chalobah has been in good form this season, with Chelsea keeping the joint most clean sheets in the league with Arsenal on eight.

The England international has forged a strong partnership with Wesley Fofana, which has been crucial in the absence of Levi Colwill.

Chalobah has learnt a lot during his time at Chelsea, and has improved as a player, and in a recent interview he revealed what he learnt from Thiago Silva.

“Reading of the game, that’s what he had in abundance,” he told Stadium Astro.

“Anticipation, because what people don’t know, that’s a skill, to anticipate where the ball is going to land or where the man’s going to be. And it’s not easy.

“But to know that as a defender, it makes your life so much easier. And in terms of off the field, recovery.

“Obviously the age he is now, looking at what he was doing, just recovering, doing the right stuff, eating right, sleeping right, being in the best shape for you to go and perform in games.”

Chelsea could sign a centre back next summer

Chelsea aren’t expected to be busy in January, but they could sign a centre back in the summer, dependent on a couple of situations.

The Blues will reportedly see how Levi Colwill returns from his ACL injury, whilst they will also assess Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr.

Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Murillo and Marc Guehi, but the chance of either player being signed appear slim at this point.
