The Man of the Match award for Real Madrid’s clash with Deportivo Alavés went to an altogether familiar face.

The recipient in question? Kylian Mbappé.

Real Madrid were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip to Vitoria-Gasteiz for a league meeting with the aforementioned Alavés.

Frontman Mbappé for his part featured from the off in the matchup, returning to Los Blancos’ centre-forward berth after sitting out in midweek against Manchester City owing to injury.

And en route to a much-needed return to winning ways, the 26-year-old again played a starring role.

Mbappé was responsible for opening the game’s scoring, courtesy of a superb individual run and finish during the first-half.

Rodrygo then notched the game’s decisive goal on the far side of the interval.

But it was Mbappé who was ultimately named Man of the Match following the full-time whistle at Mendizorrotza, adding to his growing haul of similar awards across the season to date.
