VfL Wolfsburg have wrapped up their first piece of transfer business for the winter window.
The Bundesliga club confirmed the signing of Brazilian centre-back Cleiton from Flamengo on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old will join Die Wölfe on 1 January 2026 and has signed a contract running until the summer of 2030.
“Cleiton combines physical presence with strong game intelligence,” said Wolfsburg managing director for sport Peter Christiansen.
“He is a left-footed, modern centre-back with great potential. This signing is also the result of the excellent work of our scouting department. We believe Cleiton can gradually adapt to the Bundesliga level and eventually take on an important role in our defence.”
Cleiton is excited about the challenges ahead in Germany.
“Moving to VfL Wolfsburg is a big step in my career. The Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world, and I want to learn and develop every day here. I am very grateful for the club’s trust and look forward to soon playing in the Wolfsburg jersey.”
