Wolves players return as pre-season begins under Cesar Peixoto | OneFootball

Wolves reported back for pre-season on Monday as Cesar Peixoto began work as head coach.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the new boss arrived at Compton last week and welcomed the squad for early testing and training.

New signing Kieran Trippier was among those reporting in, with the club targeting promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

He was joined by senior players including Andre and Mateus Mane, while loan returnees such as Nasser Djiga also rejoined the group.

Players who represented their countries at the World Cup will be granted extended breaks, and the squad are due to head to Portugal for a training camp soon.

None of the eight Wolves players involved at the World Cup will travel to Portugal, as each is given three full weeks off from the date of elimination.

Wolves’ first friendly in front of supporters is at Maidenhead United on 22 July.
