Wolves welcome Crystal Palace to Molineux on Saturday for a match that marks the start of Rob Edwards’ tenure as head coach.
The former Luton boss faces a monumental task today. He takes over a team that is winless after 11 games and sits bottom of the Premier League table. The mood at Molineux will be one of desperate hope. After conceding three goals in each of their last three matches, Edwards’ first priority will be to shore up a leaky defence.
However, history is not on their side. Wolves have won just one of their last nine Premier League meetings with Palace. Therefore, they must reverse this trend to have any chance of survival.
Rob Edwards has a largely fit squad for his first match in charge of Wolves, though he has confirmed three absences. Matt Doherty (knee), Rodrigo Gomes (groin), and Dan Bentley (ankle) have all been ruled out of the new manager’s dugout debut. However, the rest of the squad has been given a clean bill of health, with key attackers Jorgen Strand Larsen and Hwang Hee-chan both returning from international duty unscathed and available for selection.
Tactically, Edwards is expected to implement a back-four system for his opener, likely pairing Santiago Bueno and Ladislav Krejčí in central defence. The battle for midfield control will be entrusted to a combative trio, with André, João Gomes, and Marshall Munetsi set to anchor the engine room.
Wolves predicted XI: Johnstone; Tchatchoua, S. Bueno, Krejčí, H. Bueno; André, J. Gomes, Munetsi; Arias, Strand Larsen, Hwang
The Premier League fixture takes place at Molineux Stadium today, Saturday, 22 November 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm GMT.
This match will not air live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm GMT Saturday blackout.
