Construction has begun at Elland Road as Leeds United start an overhaul of their home.
A club spokesperson said preparatory works had taken place over the weekend and into this week, with major construction scheduled after the current season.
Plans approved by Leeds City Council in January include partial demolition and redevelopment of the West Stand, outline permission to expand the North Stand, and targeted changes to the South Stand.
The programme will lift capacity from 38,000 to 53,000 and bring the stadium up to UEFA Category four, placing it among Europe’s leading venues.
Supporters shared images of the early activity, while council officers had previously heard concerns over travel, parking and disruption for nearby residents. However, members voted strongly in favour.
On completion, the Whites will play at the seventh-largest football stadium in England.
