World Cup 2026: FIFA stuns Africa with bold new move!
FIFA has unveiled an unprecedented initiative ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Part of the tournament's jerseys will be produced in West Africa as part of the "Made in West Africa" program—a project aimed at highlighting local resources and supporting the continent’s textile industry.
Benin has been selected as one of the pilot countries to take part in the manufacturing of this gear. The goal is clear: to strengthen the cotton sector and develop textile processing in the region, while further integrating African nations into the supply chain for major international competitions.
This program could also be expanded to other nations in the sub-region, including Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad, and Côte d’Ivoire. Through this initiative, the world football governing body aims to encourage local production and create new economic opportunities around one of the planet’s most-watched sporting events.
