Algeria gave Somalia no chance, cruising to a logical 3-0 victory and sealing their ticket to the 2026 World Cup. Led by a majestic Riyad Mahrez, who notched a goal and two assists, Vladimir Petkovic's squad delivered a complete and commanding performance.
The former Manchester City star first set up Mohamed Amoura for the opener, then doubled the lead with a stunning strike into the top corner. Involved in all of Algeria's dangerous moves, Mahrez turned in a world-class display before being substituted on the hour mark. Amoura was equally impressive, coolly bagging a brace and confirming his status as the team's top attacking weapon. Petkovic, for his part, managed the match perfectly, balancing efficiency with squad rotation. Finally, Belghali shone with his relentless work rate and impact down the left flank. On the Somali side, it was a disastrous collective showing, reflecting a qualifying campaign that went awry from start to finish. Musse, Suleiman, and Jama epitomized this powerlessness, unable to cope with Algeria's superiority.
