Yuri Alberto has moved clear in Corinthians’ top five Paulista scorers this century after his strike against Velo Clube on Sunday.

According to Meu Timao, the forward is already a fixture in the club’s record books, leading the scoring at Neo Química Arena and as Corinthians’ top marksman of the 21st century.

That goal took him to 16 in the Paulistão, lifting him above Ángel Romero and Paolo Guerrero into fifth in this century’s club ranking. He now trails Liédson on 19, Nilmar on 18 and Dentinho on 18.

In the all-time club list for the competition he is 74th. The top five are Neco on 178, Cláudio on 153, Teleco on 145, Baltazar on 139 and Servílio on 122.

The Paulistão format has changed repeatedly, with older editions featuring many more matches. Corinthians played 48 games to win in 1977, while only 16 were staged in 2025.

This year’s tournament is leaner still, with 12 dates for the champions, eight in the first phase, one quarter-final, one semi-final and a two-legged final.

Yuri Alberto is also Corinthians’ leading scorer in 2026 with two. He opened his account in the 1-1 draw with Santos, then struck the only goal in the 1-0 win over Velo Clube. He is available for Wednesday’s meeting with Bahia, the club’s 2026 Brasileirão opener at 20:00.
