Algeria - Cameroon: what time and on which channels to watch the match live?
The atmosphere is heating up in Oran on the eve of the first leg between Algeria and Cameroon, counting for the final qualifying round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). On Thursday evening, the Miloud-Hadefi Stadium will vibrate to the rhythm of a high-intensity clash between two historic giants of African women’s football. The Fennecs, powered by a rising generation, are eager to confirm their progress, while the Indomitable Lionesses hope to erase the disappointment of missing the last edition.
Under the guidance of Farid Benstiti, the Algerian squad has prepared thoroughly at the Sidi Moussa Technical Center. Tactical work, team cohesion, and building automatisms have been at the heart of the training sessions.
"We have been studying Cameroon for several months. They are a powerful team, similar to Nigeria in style, but we are ready to respond with our game and determination," said the national coach.
Benstiti, who has called up 26 players—most of whom play abroad—is counting on key figures like Chloé N’Gazi, Sofia Guellati, and Ghoutia Karchouni to make the difference.
On the other side, Jean-Baptiste Bisseck’s Cameroonian squad arrives in high spirits. They landed in Oran on Monday and have multiplied their acclimatization sessions on the synthetic pitch of the Ahmed Zabana Stadium before fine-tuning tactical details.
"We know it will be a tough match, but we are here with the ambition to win," said the Cameroonian coach.
After missing out on the last WAFCON, the Lionesses are determined to reclaim their place among the continent’s elite.
